Always have your driving license with you along with the V5 Vehicle registration document, the vehicle insurance certificate and if you are not the registered keeper of the car, a letter from them authorising you to use the vehicle.
Wearers of prescription glasses must keep a spare pair in the vehicle.
Within the vehicle you must keep two warning triangles, High visibility vests for all passengers (ideally kept within the vehicle, not the boot), a spare set of light bulbs and a first aid kit.
